It was approx. -4°C in the mountain last night. Temperatures are expected around 0°C - +1°C in the mountain today and a little warmer in the lower parts of the track. The forecast says -6°C - -8°C tonight. Forecast for Saturday: Sub-zero temperatures in the mountain, but up to +2°C in the lowest parts of the track. Partly cloudy and sunny throughout the day. The sun may make the track shiny where it shines strongest.

We expect relatively fine grained snow in the track tomorrow, and more even conditions throughout the entire track than today.

STRUCTUR

Stone ground skis: Fine/medium structure. Use hand structure on stone ground skis for better glide.

Swix Structure Tool: 1.0 mm linear structure (imprint roller that gives linear structure). Use light pressure. Slightly lighter pressure in the front compared to the rear ski.

GLIDE:  Alternative 1 – easy:

  1. Iron in LF6X. Let cool off. Iron in once more and let cool off. Scrape off with a Swix Plexi Scraper, and brush with a Swix Bronze or Steel Brush.
  2. Finish with the Blue Nylon Polish Brush.

GLIDE:  Alternative 2 – more experienced:

  1. Iron in one layer of HF6X or DHF104 White Marathon. Let cool off. Iron in once more and let cool off. Scrape off with a Swix Plexi Scraper, and brush with a Swix Bronze or Steel Brush.
  2. Apply Cera F FC8X (or FC78) with an iron temperature of approx. 165°C. Make one continuous pass with the iron with a constant pressure – take one side of the groove at the time. Let cool approx. 10 min. Brush the powder away with a horsehair- or wild boar brush.
  3. Finish with the Blue Nylon Polish Brush.

GRIP

  1. Sand (rub) the grip zone area with #100 grit silicon sandpaper.
  2. Spray on a thin layer of KB20 Green Base klister. Let dry 5 min.
  3. Iron in a layer of VG35 Green Base Wax.
  4. Let cool off outdoors.
  5. Apply 2-3 layers of V40 Blue Extra Grip Wax. Smooth carefully out between each layer.
  6. Apply 2-3 layers of VR50 Violet Grip Wax. Smooth carefully out between each layer.

Those who starts later in the day can adjust with VR55N Violet on start.

Take along VR55N and VR62, waxing cork and a scraper.

If you are using skis with integrated skins we recommend to clean the skins with N18 Skin Cleaner PRO and then use N17C Swix Skin Care PRO Cold to improve the skins glide properties.

We will not have waxing service at the start Saturday morning, but we will have an extended information service with recommendations and guidance for the racers. We will have waxing service half way between start and Skramstadsætra, at Skramstadsætra, at Dambua, at Kvarstadsætra and at Midtfjellet.
