Pole revolution from Swix!
For the IBU World Championships Biathlon in Nove Mesto and the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Val di Fiemme we launch Swix Triac® 2.0 which takes the pole technology to an even higher level!
Date: February 14th 2013
Swix Triac® 1.0 is known as the world’s best and most distinguished ski pole. During Tour de Ski 2013, all the stage winners used this pole including the overall winners Justyna Kowalczyk and Alexander Legkov.
The new super pole from Swix is based on the most advanced materials available on the market and the unique Swix IPM technology enables the usage of the triangular cross section given the stiffest and strongest shaft construction there is.
– All very important key elements for the top athletes in cross country skiing:
• Weight reduced with 5%!
• Overall stiffness 18% higher!
• Tip strength 8% higher!
• Same excellent pendulum properties as Swix Triac® 1.0.
But it is not only the shaft that makes this pole different. The unique patented Swix Triac® Basket System (Swix TBS) offers 3 other different basket options fitting any kind of snow conditions that could occur during the Championships. The change of baskets can be done in a few second and doesn’t require any kind of glue or tools.
According to Category Product Manager at Swix Sport AS Svein Pedersen, some of the competing athletes have already tested the pole, and they have been so satisfied that it has been completely impossible to get the poles back.
The improvements done were so dramatic that the athletes demanded to use the new poles immediately. At the World Ski Championships in Val de Fiemme all Swix athletes will have access to Swix Triac® 2.0.
Swix Triac® 2.0 will be available in stores the coming fall for the regular consumers. There are many who have noticed the black poles (Swix Triac® 2.0 in coverage) that some top athletes have used this winter, and Norwegian Sales Manager Bjørn Haakenrud reports many questions from both skiers and retailers about when they can get their hands on these poles. They all have to be a bit patient, but in the end they will enjoy the most outstanding poles the world has ever seen, says Haakenrud.
