Mid layer is designed to be used as an insulating garment on top of the base layer garment. It is very important that the midlayer has a high functionality level regarding moister management. The midlayer shall continue the moist transportation from the base layer to external layers. Without a proper base layer the functionality of the base layer will get weakened. For cold days, the mid layer garment can be supplemented with an insulating garment, e.g. a fleece vest/sweater or a thin cover garment.
